‘Gaal ni kadni’ singer Parmish Verma shot at in Mohali : 2 gangsters claim credit | Haryana Police Make First Arrest
The Haryana Police today arrested a man from Himachal Pradesh's Solan district in connection with the attack on Punjabi singer Parmish Verma, police said.
The singer was shot at by some unidentified assailants in Punjab's Mohali on Friday night.Police in Punjab have arrested Harvinder Singh, alias Happy, from Baddi for allegedly firing shots at Punjabi pop singer and music director Parmish Verma.
Verma was shot at while coming back home late at night on April 13 and is recuperating at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. The arrest was made on Sunday morning and interrogation is on in the case, the police said.
Gangster Dilpreet Singh Dhahan, who had shot singer Parmish Verma on Saturday, has released another threat on his social media account saying that he will fire 500 rounds to kill the singer. Parmish and his friend Kulwant came under attack around 12:30 am on Saturday at Sector 74 turning, just 300 meters away from their residence in Sector 91.
Dhahan, who is the prime suspect in the crime, also revealed the name of his three accomplices. He stated on his Facebook post that I along with Akash Maharastar, Harvinder Singh and Sukhpreet Singh Buddha shot Parmish Verma.
The gangster also threatened the victim that 50 rounds of firing was a trailer and they they will fire 500 rounds to kill him.
After the attack, Dilpreet Singh claimed responsibility on Facebook. He uploaded a picture of him holding a pistol and a picture of Verma with a cross drawn on it.
He has also posted names of Akash, Harinder Singh and Sukhpreet Singh as responsible for the attack on Verma. Dilpreet has said the police was needlessly harassing the innocent.
He has said that the incident has nothing to do with any particular religion. In the post, Dilpreet said that Verma will himself tell the media why he was attacked. Verma has, however, said that he does not have any personal enmity with anyone. He has also posted his pictures from hospital on Instagram. The Mohali police is investigating the three persons named in the post by Dilpreet.
Harvinder Singh alias Happy, a resident of Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, was arrested this morning, they said. The Haryana Police has taken him for interrogation, they said.
Parmish Verma's popular 'Gaal Ni Kadni' song has over 118 million views on YouTube.
Mr Verma, who shot to fame with his song 'Gaal Ni Kadni', was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mohali and is currently out of danger.
