A OnePlus Nord 2 unit exploded and caused trauma to the owner.
OnePlus is investigating the OnePlus Nord 2 battery blast incident.
Images show the unit burned on all sides.
According to reports, a brand new OnePlus Nord 2 device burst, inflicting serious injuries to its owner. His wife's 5-day-old OnePlus Nord 2 "blasted" and started emitting smoke, Ankur Sharma of Bengaluru tweeted (later removed). Sharma's wife was injured in the bomb and is currently in a coma. This is the first time a OnePlus Nord 2 unit has caught fire in such a manner. When Sharma's tweet was replied to, the firm promised to look into the situation. A damaged OnePlus Nord 2 was uploaded on social media by Sharma (via LetsGoDigital).
OnePlus Support responded to Ankur Sharma's tweet by writing, "We're devastated to hear about your experience. Because of this, we are profoundly sorry and wish to make amends. In order to make apologies, we ask that you send us a direct message. According to OnePlus, Sharma's wife's phone may have been replaced or reimbursed in some other way.
In recent years, there have been many incidents of smartphone explosions. Redmi Note 9 Pro/Pro Max caught fire earlier this year. Xiaomi concluded that there was a "customer-induced harm" caused by external factors. Interesting to watch OnePlus' reaction to the OnePlus Nord 2 explosion. This story will be updated if and when we learn more about it.
